Studio Marvila: A creative workshop space and bar for ceramics & wine

Tucked away in Lisbon’s vibrant Marvila district, Studio Marvila is not your average wine bar and it’s not just a pottery studio either. It’s a hybrid creative space where community, craft, and natural wine come together in one warm, welcoming environment. Whether you're here to get your hands dirty with clay, discover Portugal’s best low-intervention wines, or just soak in the creative energy we invite you to shape, sip, and shop with us.

Studio Marvila: More Than Just a Bar

At Studio Marvila, we believe in slowing down. Whether it’s shaping a pot on the wheel or savoring a chilled glass of pet-nat, everything we do is grounded in care, curiosity, and craft.

This is a wine bar with a twist:

  • One part ceramics studio

  • One part natural wine haven

  • All parts creative community

It’s a place where people come to make, connect, and unwind. From first-timers to seasoned creatives, solo visitors to groups of friends—our space is open to everyone who’s looking for something a little different in Lisbon.

Where Clay Meets Grapes

The heart of Studio Marvila is the seamless blend of tactile craft and natural indulgence. On one side of the space: a sunlit studio filled with clay, wheels, and shelves of handmade ceramics. On the other: a cozy, curated wine bar featuring small-producer natural wines from across Portugal and Europe.

Our regular programming includes:

  • One-time ceramics workshops for visitors and locals

  • Multi-week pottery classes for deeper learning

  • Wine tastings and bottle pop-ups

  • Artist collaborations and chef takeovers

  • Clay & wine combo experiences

Come for a workshop. Stay for a glass. Leave with a handmade mug or bottle.

Our Philosophy: Natural, Playful, Handmade

We’re not chasing perfection we’re celebrating process. Every ceramic piece, every bottle of wine, and every guest interaction is infused with the values that guide us:

  • Natural: From the wine in your glass to the clay in your hands, we prioritize organic, low-intervention, and honest materials.

  • Playful: Creativity should be fun. Our workshops are pressure-free, exploratory, and open to all levels.

  • Handmade: We value things made slowly, with intention by people, not machines.
